pressing wheel left or right to change songs

When I press right or left to change songs my Ipod goes back to full content of the playlist. I can just play one song or chapter, then as it goes back I have to choose the next one to be able to continue. As I´m a book listener this is annoying.

Rotating the Wheel and to press the top /bottom of the Wheel are working fine.
