How to get a replacement battery

Given the restrictions now on transportation of Lithium Ion batteries, how does one get a replacement battery in Australia? They are available overseas but I am yet to discover how to get one sent to me in Australia. I actually have one for my 830 (acquired before restrictions came into being) but would love to have one for 950 and 640.

Yes. Stellatech in Germany have original batteries but can't send here to Australia. So do others. It seems the only thing to do is to go overseas, get a battery (spare is what I want) and bring back in cabin on plane, not checked baggage. That is legal. Great business opportunity for someone to solve this problem for Australians! However the products would need to come by boat as not able to come by air except as personal cabin item. And even the I suspect just one.

Sadly it means that your phone may be fine, just needs a new battery, have to ditch the phone and get a new one. What a waste!

@bravetoo, Lyn, Perhaps you have a friend in another country and could send your phone to them and they could have battery changed and send back to you. I do not know the legalities of this just a thought and maybe something to look into. Hopefully some other ifixit volunteer's will have more positive answer. Good luck.

I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.
