Wifi+Bluetooth greyed out after screen replacement. Touch ID disabled

Hello,

My friend got a screen replacement on an iPhone 6 awhile back.

Wifi and bluetooth stopped working (greyed out) and touch ID is disabled (whenever you try to set up fingerprint, it skips and throws an error message prompting you to try again).

From what I've read, the Wifi module on the board is most likely not working. Would there be a possibility that it is just the antennas/cables? Also, if it is the chip itself, how effective would heat gunning it be to get the solder to flow.

For touch ID, the home button works fine, so could the "conductive plate" mentioned on a different question herebe the culprit, or would it be a different issue?

I have not opened it yet, but plan on doing so within the next week or two.

Thanks

In my experience 99% of the time wifi/cellular issues are board level. You can try swapping out the antennas and the cables and looking at the frame for damage. IMO the phone is trash at this point so I would try a reflow with a heat gun, can't make it any less useful ya know?

Simple question for the touch ID is was the home button replaced. If you replace the home button the touch ID goes bye bye(unless you go to Apple or get somebody with microsoldering to transfer the touch Id components). If you got a replacement home button then thats solved. If not I would be curious as to what happened when the screen was repaired. Its possible part of the home button flex that runs across the back of the LCD wss damaged in just the right way.

Most likely possibilities are disconnects of the antennas and wiring, but that's pretty optimistic on my part. My friend has noted that it did stop working a while after the screen replacement, signaling that it may be due to drops on his part. Could be dodgy screen replacement still, who knows?

For me, it's NBD getting a whole toolset to diagnose and try and fix it since it's not too big of an investment for tools and I've been wanting to get into cell teardowns for awhile now.
