Touch doesn't work on some parts

I have a Galaxy Tab S 10.5" SM-T800 WiFi only model, and the touch doesn't work on most of the screen and only part of the "bottom third" of the screen does. It also freezes up constantly or resets on its own. I tried a screen replacement but that didn't fix any of these issues. I'm thinking it might be a firmware issue, but I can't update firmware because touch doesn't work. Could anybody provide some advice? Thanks.

Hi @taylor_haynes ,

I assume that you replaced the digitizer and it is still not working correctly. Is this correct?

To try a firmware update, connect a USB mouse via an appropriate OTG (On the Go) adapter cable. (This is just an example to show what it is, not a recommendation for the sellers. There are others that may suit you better. Just search online. Also note that an OTG cable is wired differently to a 'regular' USB connector adapter cable i.e. micro male USB to standard female USB cable

Use the mouse to navigate through the tablet in lieu of the touchscreen.

If you need to use a keyboard, you can use a USB keyboard the same way using the OTG adapter, (be aware that for some reason not all USB keyboards will work this way, don't know why).

Obviously you'll have to disconnect the mouse to connect the keyboard. (or try a BT keyboard, once you have enabled the BT connection with the USB keyboard and use it with a USB mouse at the same time. Haven't tried this myself so don't know if having both connected works or not - just a thought).

Also take note that you'll have to keep check on the battery level as the USB devices (BT?) will draw more power from the tablet and you cannot run it on the charger at the same time as the tablet is changed from a USB 'device' to a USB 'host' when the OTG adapter is connected.

While I appreciate the answer, the issue here is not that I can simply connect a mouse/keyboard to my tablet and it starts working, the issue is the freezing, the restarting, AND the touch doesn't work. The KBM fixes only one of those issues. Thanks though, and I have since tried a firmware update, no luck.
