Image layering after fix

After fixing an ipad mini 2, the screen is layering images with mild transparency. Anything the screen has shown since turning on will remain partially in the foreground of the screen and small patches of horizontal lines have appeared along the screen. I have checked the cable and the connection to the logic board and both are sound. My suspicion is that I need to replace the LCD, but I'm hoping otherwise.
