The Xbox 7MN-0001 Wireless Controller, was manufactured by Microsoft Corporation. It is the first generation Xbox One controller released, but has since been discontinued. How do I fix my left trigger

My left trigger thinks I'm holding it down nonstop. When I took off the cap the black wire was snapped, and I put it together again, but it still thinks I'm holding it down. How do I fix this?
