Hi!
All modern phones and tables turn off their screens (and go to sleep) when you do not use it to save power.
To change the screen timeout (the time that needs to pass before it turns off) have a look at this guide.

Shutting off and going to sleep are two different things. My tablets have started shutting OFF too. My guess is it's got something to do with an update they've done.
