My low tire pressure light on my dash went off. I checked my tires all are correctly inflated.
I'm trying to check if the four sensors are working properly and if one is bad any tricks in diagnosing which.

As it turned out the battery in one of the sensors had died!
What a job to find which one, had to locate the ID string of the sensor using the test tool and then deflate the tires one by one to locate the ID printed on the sensor. Of course it took me three tires to locate the one in question.
Then I had to bring the car in to the dealer to explain why the sensor on that rim needed replacing. Luckily it was still under warranty!
It would have helped having the ID on the rim its self.

@anchefixes - Within the sensor
With Fords and possibly Mazdas, there is a freeware OBDII reading software called Forscan. It most likely could let you know electronically. I managed to use it to find out which of the four backup sensors on my old 2002 explorer had failed...hope this helps someone
@mbed - The issue in my case is which rim!
I had gotten access to a tool to read the signal, no way to tell which rim has the bad sensor.

Some cars have sensors which don’t identify the specific tire, but simply indicate that one of the tires is low. A Toyota Corolla is like that. Other vehicles not only identify the specific tire, but also tell you the pressure for each tire. A Chevrolet Trailblazer is like that.
A dealer told me that you can’t replace the battery in the sensor, but I’ll bet you can figure out how to do it if you can figure out how to take the sensor apart. We have a questionable sensor on one of our vehicles; one day, when I get some time on my hands, I may try to check the batteries in the sensors.

Possibly, but possibly not.
On my Toyota Prius, one of the TPMS sensors had this exact problem, where the battery died, and the entire sensor had to be replaced because the entire internal gubbings of the sensor is completely filled with epoxy to ensure that it cannot be worked on by anyone, even the dealer.
