My Sim card reading is not reading.

One day out of the blue, my phone said my SIM card was not detected. I rebooted and still nothing. Then I went to my provider to get a new SIM card to make sure that wasn't the issue. Still nothing. Called LG and they said they could fix it for 70 bucks, but everything would be formatted such as my unlock and my root. I did buy it unlocked and unrooted from the store, so I'm afraid if I sent it off, I would have more issues such as losing my unlock if they did format it.

So I took it to a phone repair shop and the guy there said it's not the SIM card reader itself cause the prongs are connected. He was also pretty hesitant to work on it cause it might be pricy and suggested I take the fix from LG for 70 bucks.

I'd like to do it myself if it's a relatively easy fix. If not, I'll have to send it off cause I honestly have no clue anymore.

The same problem with my LG Flex. I have had to return my phone to LG twice to fix it!

Same problem! After the Hardware chek and flash and factory reset, my phone said " No SIM card, emergency call only"

I dont know what can i do!

Hey, make sure your sim card pins are fine, did you fall down your device ? if there is not any hardware issue, then you can fix this issue simply by flashing your device with firmware.

You should complete detail of your device to answer you more descriptively.

I was told pins were fine by someone at a telephone repair shop. He's thinking it's something else, but said it would probably cost more than sending it off to LG.

I'm not sure what other detail is needed.

Did you try to reset your device settings?

If not, then backup your data and reset your device, if even then problem persist, i would recommend you to search out firmware of your device online, and download that firmware, and then flash with that firmware. you can search on youtube

I have the same problem and this is what i did to fix it. It is almost like a hard reboot from scratch. First, pop the back cover and remove 9 screws from the back. Once the 9 screws are removed, use a small flat head screw driver to pry open the cover. Once the cover is open, disconnect two ribbon cables, one big one small, and put back the cover without the ribbons being connect. Now press and hold the power button until the main screen go away so it will drain all the power being stored. Now when that is done you can reconnect the two ribbon cables and put back the cover. Now try press and hold down the power button and it will initialize from scratch. I think it has about 97 files to load up. This should fix the sim card not being detected. Hope this help….
