replace audio jack on kindle fire hd 8 7th gen

Has anyone ever replaced the audio jack in a kindle fire HD 8, 7th generation? My daughter broke off part of her headphones in there and we can't get it out. And now the kindle thinks head phones are plugged in so there is no sound. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.
