Installation of win 7 on a new 20gb ssd went flawless. however system will not boot without win 7 cd plugged in, only get a courser. what file could be missing from the c drive for computer to boot.

Try starting the computer with the installation cd and then select "repair your computer" > "startup repair" options from the installation menu. When complete restart the PC

maybe your system didn't install the boot manager, try installing grub.
search "grub for windows" in google

Yep that’s what I did and it worked. Great little machine now. Should be supported for a year or two anyway. I’ll use it with my telescope program.
