try to open my sunroof makes a small noise but doesnt open

I have a 2000 pontiac sunfire and wen i try to open my sunroof it makes a small noise wen opening but doesnt open and then wen i hit the button to act like im shutting it it will make a lil noise and stop doesnt open or close at all
