I bought two SSD hard drives from ifixit with the install kit.
The install seemed to go without a hitch. I created a bootable usb drive with high sierra and the computer boots up but the two new drives do not show up to install the system on to, just the bootable usb flash drive.
Any ideas?

Run Disk Utility and format the drives GUID, Mac OS X journaled. You should now be able to install a system.

Having very limited computer skills, but my mechanical skills are pretty ok. I think, if the information provided in this thread was provided when I bought the upgrade, things would have been much less confusing for me.
I can rebuild an engine, but I can't really format a hard drive. Until now ;-)
