Vertical Gray bars on LCD after battery replacement

My old battery had forced some of the touch screen from the frame so I bought a new battery. After watching a few videos I decided to take the battery out without removing everything in the Ipad. I used a blow dryer and heated up the area where the battery connects to the mother board. I pried up on the mother board and removed the old battery. I installed the new battery and plugged in the display. I usually check the picture before i close it up just in case. This time I have gray vertical lines but they come and go. I have tried numerous times to unplug and plug them back in with no luck. I even put the old battery in and still the same thing. I am able to power it up and see it on find my iPhone and make it play a sound. At this point Im guessing i have damaged the digitizer or the LCD but i dont know. Worst case senario is i buy both. If you have any ideas im open to any help. Thanks

Sounds like the ribbon cable or connector for the display got damaged.

If the screen was pried too deep at the bottom right, the cables for the display may have gotten damaged.

The LCD display usess the single cable coming from the display while the touchscreen uses the dual cables. Might want to inspect them carefully for any tears or punctures.
