replaced digitizer, now home button does not work

I purchased a new digitizer with middle bracket pre-assembled to replace cracked digitizer. After replacing the digitizer, the home button did not respond. So I called the seller on ebay and he sent me a replacement. Meanwhile, I reassembled the old cracked digitizer to have an ipod until new digitizer would come. With the old digitizer the home button works just fine.

Now I received the replacement and still the same problem.

Is there a way to move the home button from old digitizer to new one?
