What could be the cause of the screen problem?

Hi,

I found out that my kids messed up with my ipad and now i have this problem that you can see on the attached picture. I asked them but somehow they don’t seem to recall anything…

Anyway, could this be water damage ?

That is physical damage, starting from above the home button area. I’m guessing the glass got pushed in really hard or dropped pretty hard.

In any case, the inside display (LCD panel) needs to be replaced.
