samsung 960 ssd with adapter, will it affect power and speed?

hi,

i want to install 960 pro into my 2013 macbook air using an adaptor, my question is: is the power consumption any different to the original drive that was in the laptop therefore negatively affecting battery life and will the read write speeds matter significantly
