Can't unlock screen (using my pattern)

Recently i had an update on my phone. After that i cant use the pattern to unlock the home screen. there is no problem with the pin code, just with the pattern. There is a slight touch problem in the screen (meaning it doesnt work in a place because it has fallen down a few times) but i never used to have this problem before. My main issue is not losing my files (photos etc). Thank you
