Why is my SIM card tray not working anymore

I succesfully transplanted my S8+ internals into a new digitizer and screen combo and everything is working perfectly! Except one thing… the sim card slot doesn’t seem to pop out anymore using a sim card tool. Tried looking for anything wrong but can’t seem to find any issue. It was working perfectly fine before and the motherboard was safely stored until I waited for my digitizer.

I was about to sell the phone but now I’m not sure if I should try to fix it, as the sim card receiver is kind of attached to the main board. Or if anyone encountered this issue and has an easy fix?
