Idling problems while driving or parking

i have a problem with my van-upon starting, idles higher than normal-in gear idles higher than normal-check engine comes on after s min. of driving then TCS light comes on when waiting for traffic signals-feels like i have foot on gas and brake at the same time.Upon parking-when put into park-idles from1100rpm to 2600rpm back down to 1100rpm in rapid succession.Wont quit doin this until i punch gas pedal to try and kick down idle for which is does then stalls.What sensor, what notorious part might be responsible for this?

It could be your TPS (Throttle Position Sensor), MAF, or even a leak in your Intake Manifold (maybe a lose or broken hose to a cracked manifold), check to see if the MAF sensor is dirty or has too much oil on it. Do as Osvaldo said, get your codes read at AutoZone, Hey its free!

This problem could also be caused by a broken power steering pressure sensor wire. Check for a loose green wire near a sensor on the power steering rack. It often breaks over time and causes a fluctuating idle like you described.

When operating normally, the sensor increases engine RPM slightly to increase power steering pressure when the driver is turning the steering wheel with the engine at idle, such as when parking.
