battery only charges if its removed and then reinstalled into the phone ( wall charging) ordered a replacement battery and it does the same thing . But replacement was supposed to be new but has a manufacturer date of Jan. 2015 bad battery or phone Thank You

Have you tried other chargers? It sounds like you are having some type of grounding issue. The manufacture date is probably correct as the G3 is a very old phone and not produced anymore. I would maybe buy another battery from another supplier just to rule that out.
