Rear camera only working in Facebook?

Okay so I dropped my phone pretty bad, the back of the phone has lost a lot of glass but that doesn’t bother me too much, what does bother me is the rear camera isn’t working anymore, it’s just black on the camera app, snapchat and everything else apart from Facebook where it works.I was going to replace the rear camera but then got thinking and if the camera still works in Facebook, does that mean it’s a connection or processor that has broken/disconnected and not the camera has broken. Any advice on what it could be?

There is a post similar to this on the apple help forum. Someone said to set it up as a new iphone using itunes. However, I worry that doing that will most likely wipe all of your data.

Thanks for the reply man, yeah I read that yesterday, the only thing is it broke the second I dropped it which makes me think it’s physical issue not a software problem

Does it not work on both 1x and 2x? I suspect that you have broke one of the cameras and not the other, however they are housed in one unit.

Yeah in the app it doesn’t let me use 1x or 2x however Facebook uses a zoomed in camera probably 2x so I think you might have hit the nail on the head there, should I replace the camera??

yes, unfortunately they are quiet expensive.
