Guide to replacing metal frame and midboard?

Is there a guide out there in the internets that will show a complete tear down of iPhone 4 so I can install a custom frame and midboard to it? I've spent about 3 hours researching this question between here, google, and MacRumors. I know how to get most of the components out, but I have questions about removing a couple ribbons.

Additionally the replacement frame does not have the grey, meshy layer covering the front piece (where the lcd rests against). Is that going to interfere with the LCD or is it there for protection?
