Why is the pixel 2 xl I have not connecting to the wifi?

i am having an issue with a pixel 2 XL not connecting to the wi-fi. it finds the wi-fi but it will not connect to it. The other pixel phones that i have now connect to the same wi-fi connection just fine for some reason this one will not. there is no error it just searching for the network and never go through with the connection. any ideas?
