phone not holding charge not holding charge

Went to Genius Bar in Austin- said it was IOS problem not battery- told to upgrade to 4.2.1- told would solve the problem. Upgraded- it did not solve the problem. Charge 'til battery shows full- 30 minutes later its dying.
