Kindle Fire HD 7 (2014) Boots to black screen, no matter what.

My device boots to black screen. I know it’s booted because it chimes when usb is plugged or unplugged. Additionally, it shows in windows device manager as ‘Fire’. I have already tried the 20 second power button reset, many times. I have also tried the ‘unplug the battery’ trick many times. This started when I was actually trying to fix another problem and attempting to go into recovery mode. At first it was only black screening when I would try to get to the recovery menu. Then it started doing it no matter what I did.
