Why is my Nextbook Ares 8A not going to tablet lock screen

My tablet was powered off for a couple of years. I turned it on recently but when it reaches the “nextbook” screen with the light scrolling through the words it stays like that and drains all the battery. I put it on the charger last night and let it load but the next morning it is still loading. Yes, I tried hard factory reset and Yes, it was in its case the entire time. I dont know if it's the battery of just something. Pls help.
