Why won’t my Hamilton Beach 12-Cup Coffee Maker dispense anymore?

My coffee maker will not dispense coffee anymore, everything else works at this point, just nothing comes out when I press the trigger to dispense the coffee. Is the button that initiates dispense coffee replaceable or should I just repurchase a new unit? Please help?

I noticed there is a small plastic extension on top of the trigger that activates the dispenser when the trigger is pressed. The plastic extension becomes weak and just bends when the trigger is pushed and does not put any force on the dispenser and it won't open to let the coffee out.

Is there a fix?

take it apart and clean it. The rubber part may have been popped out of place. there are a couple screws underneath you can remove and the assembly can be taken apart, cleaned, and reassembled. Don't lose the spring!

Can’t get it apart after removing the 2 screws.

Wrong bottom, not the machine but the removable canister

The dispenser bar that you push for coffee is broken. I have had 7 of these and every darn one had the same issue in less than 1.5 years of use. I took mine apart and tried to fix it but it’s useless. You can’t buy a replacement part either. It almost seems it’s meant to break so you have to go out and buy a new one. I’ve enclosed a pic of the cheap plastic part.

It wiggled. I broke it off. Thought what my Late Father (TED) the tool and die Man would do??? I drilled a small hole where the tab was and placed a small head screw at the position of the tab. Problem solved. Thanks again DAD!

Thanks again Dad. You help me on every project I do!

Hello Jeff, I wish you could take a picture, or video how you fixed this, because I have had 5, and all break after about a year, I got two that won't despence.

I removed the button dispenser lever assembly. Not easy to remove the bottom panel there is on torx screw in the corner..the 4 others are Philips then need to pry with force the. Bottom panel off..you need to remove the heater assembly and cover of the button.

Now you see the button/lever assembly…use a screw driver to pry it loose from the plastic bracket that holds it…this is tough as you could break the holder bracket but fortunately it bends so you can pry the lever out.

Have pic that shows fix to lever. I used a dremel to drill a hole for a small screw to add strength and better contact to the release valve. Lastly quick acting JB Weld to add strength, often these parts are cracked.

Put all back and it works..about 1 hr of labor.

I found that the round-shaped filter “spout piece” inside the tank has clogged, far too many occasions I would dare to admit. Letting straight vinegar sit in the tank overnight helped the situation. After a couple of years, I’ve grown tired of this process so I actually grabbed a knife and popped that thing out. Coffee flows normal, however it’s not being filtered (shouldn’t be a problem if you don’t spill the ground coffee when preparing it). I tried going online looking for that little spout part with no luck. You can buy the entire tank part for $20, but really? All I need is to replace this tiny spout (strainer/filter) piece. All in all, the actual piece I removed looks like it was painted with black ink, impossible for anything to filter out through this anymore. I would submit pictures, but I don’t see how I could do that.

I have the same issue as DH. There’s a plastic bit at the top of the trigger but it seems to be gone. It needs like half a cm more to push the valve to dispense the coffee. A fork also works but I burned myself.

same issue, We have had 4 of them all have the same part failure. I love not having a carafe and the ease of use of this product. I have also tried to go in and replace this part but they are made so this can not be done by the average tinkerer. Nor could I find one to buy. DO THE RECALL COFFEE POTS?????

I’d had three of these and all had the same failure of that plastic dispensing trigger. Can’t order the part to repair. Won’t bother with Hamilton Beach again.

Remove tab drill small hole. Insert small head screw at proper angle and length.

Thank, tool and die man TED!
