Why is my MacBook Hot and not Booting?

Tried holding power button and it only makes the fans attempting to spin but stops right away, sounds like the sending mail whoosh sound.

-It is super hot right above the middle of the touch bar.

-Tried shift+control+option 10 seconds, no work

-Plugging in the charger doesn’t make the plug in sound

-No signs of light anywhere (keyboards, screen, touchbar)

Could it be the battery or is it something else? Anyone have or know anybody with similar issues on the MY18 MBP 15”? I would take it to Genius Bar, but I figured I could just replace the battery myself since it’s passed the warranty date.

Seems like battery is not the problem, fans are running at a low speeds, device is very hot even though not charging. No signs of light on the screen

Did you have a liquid spill into the keyboard or touchpad?

Your battery is not likely the issue here I suspect you have a more serious issue. If you’ve not had and spill I would not do anything with your system and go directly to an Apple Store.

If you did have a spill you’ll need to find someone local to you that has skills to work on your system (an independent repair shop)

No spills, it was working perfectly fine yesterday. Now it somehow booted but with no display, third party accessory have power, plugging in charger makes the charging tone as well. Tried HDMI to TV but it still no display. I want to fix this myself since I don’t trust anyone having access to my data.

You're between a rock and a hard place here. Your logic board is what I suspect is the issue are you skilled in micro soldering and have access to the systems schematics and the needed parts? Even I don't dig that far in these newer systems!

As far as the security of your data the T2 encryption protects that so unless you give them your access info its safe.

Apple will just replace the logic board and I'm expecting they will do this under an extended warranty but time is running out!

So there you have it. I guess for you if the data is that sensitive you'll need to get a new system to replace yours.
