My 2004 gas e-z-go cart .I step on the gas and all it does is idle.
cart idles only .sometimes when you let it sit it will start to work .but now .wont go anywhere

Have you checked the throttle linkage/throttle system? Since it’s idling even with the pedal down, surely something’s wrong. Just make sure to turn off the engine before you check.

If you don't hear the motor rev'ing up when you step on the gas pedal, then the linkage between the pedal and the motor is malfunctioning. Something broken, or loose probably. Will need to trace the linkage to determine the problem.
