Why is my battery not replacement battery not working?

If you have a volt meter you can use that on the new battery. Where did you get the new battery from? Buying a battery online is hit or miss. Who knows how long a battery has been sitting around for. It that battery was dead when you got it there is a change it has been damaged form sitting without a charge. If you can return the battery and get a replacement I would try that.
