It is a DIY PC powered by Windows 10. The computer asks me to change the password from time to time (around one month). The computer has locked for two times because my wife changed the password and forgot to write it down.
Is there any way to turn it off? And any alternative to Ophcrack as it takes hours to find the lost password.

Ophcrack is not a great option for Windows 10 password recovery,it takes a long time to run on a computer,i guess it depends on your password.If the password is complex, it will take 10 hours or more to load (I tested it). This only worked for 15 minutes on my computer and solved the problem.

If it’s signed into a microsoft account use a local account instead without a password.

It is a local account only.
Should be able to remove password when using the change password option instead leave new password blank and it should let you change it to no password.
