Surface keyboard does not power on after battery replacement.

I have this surface pro 4 that I did a battery replacement on and now the keyboard does not work. I have tried doing another battery replacement. I have replaced the flex for the keyboard connection. I have cleaned all the connections. I have updated all the drivers and also did the power+vol up trick with no results. Anyone have any ideas?
