Black screen after login

Recently my Mac has been shutting off randomly and not turning back on for a minute or so. After it turns on the login screen and start up chime appear/sound.

This started happening on the last update of macOS Sierra and now in Catalina it persists.

The only thing I have done to this computer is tighten the screen hinge and upgrade the RAM from 4GB to 8GB back on macOS High Sierra. My anti-virus software (trend micro titanium) detects no problems with my files and I haven’t visited risky websites

What could be the cause and solution. Please help.

P.S. A bit more information, I though the battery connection was bad so I reseated the battery connecter but the problem also happened when I had the MagSafe charger connected and CoconutBattery shows no error codes.

This sounds like an OS/App crash!

Your log file is likely stuffed with old crashes! So what you’ll want to do here is clean out the old and then the next time this happens copy the crash report into Pages and then export it as a PDF (Landscape - Legal As you want the widest page possible to make it easier to read) post it here for us to see 기존 질문에 이미지 추가하기

Here’s a good write up! How to View the System Log on a Mac

And here’s a good tool to clean your old logs out Disk-Cleaner

Also check to see what is being loaded by your startup script within your user account and any apps which you auto start.

You may want to also review your apps versions making sure they are are upto date (outside of the App Store being the more likely that could need attention).
