Does the NTrig board have conductive adhesive?

After replacing the LCD assembly the touch function no longer works. I am wondering if the silver adhesive on the bottom of the NTrig board was some kind of conductive adhesive? If so, perhaps the lack of it could be causing the issue?

The adhesive was gummed up from removing the board from the old screen, and I decided to remove it completely. I had meant to save it to test for conductivity but someone else threw it away before I had a chance to.
