Dead with charging light

Hi all!

i have tried to find solution of this but cant find nothing. Im quite worried as my Air is from 2013 but has very little use, and if so light work use. I was using it normal and kept it in sleep by closing it and went to work. Next day i wanted to use it and it was black. After that day i have not been able to bring it back to life. I tried all type of resets like SMC, NVRAM etc… and lastly i opened it and disconnected the battery, and even tried with the battery disconnected and only the charger but nothing at all… the inside looks pretty clean, as i havent used it much. Just little bit of dust as usual but nothing much everything looks proper in its place. Only thing shows some sort of life is the charger, its orange and only when i do the SMC reset it turns green for a second and gets back orange…

is there any solution for this? I want my macbook back :(

Lets give this a try disconnect anything thats connected to your system, Pop the bottom cover off and disconnect the battery.

  • Now press the power button for a good 30 secs. (again with nothing plugged in).
  • Plug in your MagSafe charger your system should spontaneously startup. Shut it down properly.
  • Reinstall your battery and connect it as well as the MagSafe charger Don’t start it yet! What is the color of the MagSafe LED Amber or Green? If Amber let it charge for a good six to eight hours did it turn Green?

At this point your logic board needs repairs or just replace it:

Thanks for your reply. I tried what you said but it didnt work… its really strange. I even clean everything with alcohol just incase but nothing… i realized that when i plug in the charger there is like a slight noise…as if its running in sleep mode, and there is a continuos tick tick tick…

Dont know what more to do…

What is the color of the MagSafe connector when you have the battery plugged in, Amber or Green?

The color whenever i connect it shows green and after like 2 sec becomes amber. And it will stay amber the whole life. I tried leaving it charging a good 3-4 hours and nothing. Still amber

I still feel its in a deep sleep because of the noise i hear when its charging... i need to recover it!

Hi... just wondering can it be a bad battery? because i have tried leaving it charging for hours and hours and just orange led. The mac doesnt get hot (normally when charging it gets a little) and seems like it isnt chargint at all...

So i was wondering maybe if i get a new battery and replace it? maybe the macbook air cannot power on without a proper battery?
