Why is my dads laptop so laggy its brand new

i have this asus vivobook x540u so my dad bought this laptop for his business but after he pressed the power button it boots fine but its took a long time i was wondering should i uninstall this asus apps this the laptop why i hated i3 so much so the specs are intel core i3 7th gen 1tb hdd 4gb ram i said to my dad thats a decent specs for a laptop but its so freaking slow even roblox it cant handle it properly it keeps crashing so since my dad bought a desktop pc im the one whos using the laptop now. Plss give me recommendations

Hi,

You can remove most of the Asus apps, just make sure you don’t remove any that are essential to any hardware.

It might also be worth checking the condition of the hard drive by running something like HDDScan, even new disks can be faulty.

Also install a lighter weight anti-virus program. Try Bitdefender for example.

Try un-installing any pre installed software that you don’t need. I had this problem a while a go and sometimes factory resetting it helps (Make sure you have everything backed up). You could also try upgrading the RAM or replace the HDD with an SSD. I have upgraded the RAM on a few laptops and they all seem pretty easy to do.
