I have the same problem. I managed to open it and found the tape unattached to the screen.
Any suggestions on how to glue it back?

how did you open the alarm clock? I'm afraid of damaging it ...

Yes, the tape kind of lost its stickiness. think I unscrewed it to open it. Anyway I threw it away
