iPhone 6 Screen Replacement HELP!

I just replaced my iPhone 6 screen with one I bought on eBay. The earpiece and home button came installed. After installation the screen is working as in it lights up but it is just a black screen. Phoned it from another phone and it rang. I definitely put the screws in the right place. Tried the home button and power button for 10 seconds. Also put the old cracked screen on which was still working and it’s doing the same thing with the black screen. Help please!

Just to confirm - no matter what screen goes on it is black?

@therepairer yeah it’s black on the new and old screen (think the old screen was a replacement from amazon too if that makes a difference)

Overall, I think it might be cheaper to simply buy a new phone based on the comments of your chosen solution

Did you disconnect the battery while performing the repair? Your first mistake was most likely buying a screen from eBay, especially with the home button and front camera assembly attached. By replacing the home button, it will lose TouchID functionality unless you use the original button. If it is broken, there really isn’t much you can do. If the original screen lights up just fine, then it’s a defective replacement. Order a quality display from Mobile Sentrix, Mobile Defenders, Group Vertical, or Injured Gadgets. Not only are they much better quality compared to the junk sold on eBay, Amazon, Craigslist, and AliExpress, most of them offer a lifetime warranty for defects.

Hi sorry I got it on amazon but see you mentioned that’s just as bad. The old screen does the exact same thing the new screen does, do you recon the phone is gubbed?

@cammyt not entirely. There are repair shops that specialize in doing board level repairs on iPhones. You can check with iPad Rehab in Rochester NY to see what it would cost to fix or try to find a local, independent repair shop that specializes in Microsoldering.
