Anybody knows how to remove the top cover of a Granbaristo?

Hi folks,

The title kind of says it all. I’m trying to take my Seaco Granbaristo apart… but i’m already stuck at the top cover (small rectangular plate with 4 long slots in it) The service manual says to slide it towards the bean compartment and then lift it… but the thing wont budge and I feel that more force will break something.

So please let me know if you know how this puzzle is solved :)
