Possible to Add a Mute Button?

Wondering if the mic wiring is accessible enough to add an in-line interrupt to act as a mute button. An example use case would be during a FaceTime call, enabling the ability to make loud noise (grinding coffee beans) without having to run back and forth twice to hit the mute button on the iPad, MacBook, etc.

Unfortunately, just about any pair of headphones regardless of brand, is not designed with repair ability in mind. Odds are you’ll have to crack the casing and such to get at the internals.
