1 What is a normal percentage for an iPhone battery to drop while off?
So we have a large inventory of iphones and ipads. On occasion we will have several that sit on a shelf, fully charged, turned completely OFF, waiting to be deployed. It’s pretty standard to see about half of those devices to lose a significant amount of charge or be completely dead when they are pulled off the shelf to be used.
What is normal? Doing a search online we’ve found a claim of 5% per month, but we are seeing larger numbers than this, or a completely drained battery. We’re talking 1-3 months of sitting on a shelf powered OFF.
When tested on 3u or in the battery health section in iOS settings the claimed number on the battery capacity will always say it’s at an acceptable range. We typically change batteries at 88% or lower.
Anyone have experience with this?

i guess im looking for input from folks that deal with a large number of devices that would have experienced this, like us.
Corporate repair depots and such, or any shop or store that has a back stock that would have seen this before.
