How to repair a hole in the hood of a waterproof jacket?

I have a mens galvanized jacket that I’ve only worn twice. I took it with me out in the back country (its amazing for movement) but when I got home I noticed a tear/hole in the hood. Perhaps it got caught on a tree, I’m not really sure how it happened. Nevertheless, its right in the middle of the fabric. Not too sure what to do. Thanks
