Acer nitro 5 doesn't turn on
Acer nitro AN517-51 series doesn’t turn on,
battery is full. I used that only few month..

Remove the charger. Press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds. Then insert a paperclip into the battery reset pinhole on the bottom cover for 30 seconds. Wait 15 mins. Plug the charger back in. If steady orange charging LED, don't try to turn machine on till steady blue. If still blinking orange LED, battery is likely unrecoverable due to being drained for extended period below critical level.

If blinking 3 times then the orange blinking gone

Blinking is stopping when holding reset button comes steady and then blinking orange again infinitely. Simple question does this model require a battery to boot up because I've tried to disconnect the battery but no results

mine has exhibited symptom of power button press produces no result a few times in past week. Jus did this again today worse than others.. Tried all the tricks.. Tried long press. tried short press. Tried many fast short press. Tried plugging charger in and the light was blue but allowed it to charge for 5 min. No luck. Continued to tap periodically then suddenly a little beep after maybe 5 minutes of this and it powered up. Windows power meter shows 100% charge so it is not a battery issue. Is maybe a switch that is actuated by pressing the key.
Can’t say but very disappointed that an $800 laptop seems to be failing and has become unreliable in less than 3 years. Actually I think less than 2.
Acer owners need to get together and complain befor Acer gets away with this again.

I just got the new Acer Nitro 5 AN517-54-77KG 2021 model today dead on arrival
No power, No lights for charging did all the trouble shooting I could find on the net which there is no battery reset hole on this version, and dropped 1200$ on this laptop I'm !#^&@@ to say the least I'm doing a return and replace one time cause I like my last nitro but if this next one is dead I'm done with Acer all together
I was using mine the other day, it cut off without warning. Screen just went black, when charger is plugged in I have no lights indicating it's charging. I bought another charger, same thing. Checked voltage coming out of charger before plugging in. 19 volts coming out of charger when unplugged from laptop, as soon as I plug it in the charger stops putting out voltage. I've tried with multiple different chargers, none will work.
I bought a nitro five 10th gen in August..a few times it just randomly shut of without warning. I didn't think much of it as I thought it was probably just a software issue. But last night it went off again without warning. It now only works when plugged in with the power cable, it also says its on 97percent battery. But as. Soon as unplugged. It instantly turns off an has no power whatsoever. Don't expect this from a Brand new £1000 laptop. This seems to be quite a common thing from Acer with this model laptop. Ita a good job took out 3years warranty.

Make sure the charger cord is tight in the laptop port. I had this issue, then I noticed I had to push the charger cable into the laptop port a little bit more (like 1-2mm) and I heard it click in, and charging light then lit on laptop. You may have to adjust the 45° charger cable a little.

You guys need to check the 8 pin mosfet on the motherboard. It should be located north of the battery input on the board and another where the charger inputs into the motherboard. Get a multimeter and test the pins 1-4 to pin 6 and 7 (two center output pins) to see if 19 volts pass through. If not then the mosfet is bad.

i am having a similar issue with my acer nitro5 it shuts off randomly after 1or 2 hours and i have to reset battery every time and then it starts working just fine for another 2 hours. Is this a software or hardware issue if anyone has any clue please let me know. thanks
