How to replace keyboard
How do you replace the entire keyboard? I spilled some water on mine and now the backlight and 4 keys no longer work.
Update (06/11/2020)
I bought a Hungarian version of the keyboard as there were none available at the time for the USA market. The seller, in China, said it would work just fine for US Americans.

Thanx for the quick response. I saw the instructions for changing the motherboard and assumed changing the motherboard pretty much included also changing the keyboard, which in this case, is the entire upper surface of the laptop, far more complicated than I a hoped. I also learned Best Buy Geek Squad only does software fixes these days, what? They should change their name to "Useless Dorks, A-Scared of Hardware" squad, UDASH, lol. I bought it from them and they refuse to do what I would think would be a fairly easy install.

Yeah, most of the laptops have a somewhat easier way to replace the keyboard. But as you can't remove it from the upside, you need to work from down to up... I think if you follow the guide, it won't be that difficult, but I advise to replace the thermal paste too.

Success, kinda. I finally installed the new keyboard, a UK version, and it works completely, all the letters and the backlite. However, now the on-board speakers have gone silent but the headphone out and bluetooth work, so it is capable of making sound but I want the on-board speakers to work. On the first couple of boots after the new keyboard was installed, the speakers were working but making a snapping sound a little bit but now have gone silent. I've tried replacing the driver, etc. but nothing helps. In SETTINGS for sound it shows my speakers need to be troubleshot but none of those efforts have fixed them. Any ideas? Does anybody know where I can get a new motherboard for this laptop?
Thanx, Frederick
