When I plug the charger into my iPhone it starts charging but after charging to about 50% and above the charging bolt on the screen disappears until I unplug and replug the charger repeatedly.

Charging socket is either on it’s way out or needs to be cleaned with a tweezer / toothpick or similar fine tool.
