Cord ripped out of volume control

I accidentally stepped on my headset cord while tying my shoe, and ripped it out of the inline volume control while standing up.

It’s a 3.5mm jack, and the wires seem very small.

What are my chances of a successful repair, and how do I go about it?

I can’t afford a replacement. Not even a cheap one.
