I disengaged the wheels now it will not move forward or back.

I just purchased a zero turn Craftsman Zero Turn. It ran perfect, but the battery needed to be replaced. I disengaged the wheels to push it off the trailer and now it will not move forward or back. I have checked the belts, held both transmission engagement mechanisms forward, and it still does not move. Any ideas?
