How to spot if motherboard has been switched?

Some weeks ago I went to a local Mac repair shop because of some dropped liquid... after some inspections on the damaged modules they said that the only damages were in the wi-fi and the disk, now they are saying that the motherboard is also damaged. I am suspicious because of some shady moves these people made. Now they are giving me back my Mac Air.

This is my question: Is there a way to know if the motherboard they are returning me the mac with is the same as the one I always had? I think they might have switched motherboards...

The simple way is to open the About this Mac dialog box locating the systems specs and the systems S/N which is part of the logic board. Compare it to the bottom covers S/N they should match. I would also look at your repair tag as the S/N on their paperwork should have been the cases and lastly your original receipt from Apple (Paper or email) will also have the original S/N of the system.

Besides the S/N you should be able to compare the specs of your purchase and what your system currently has.

I will use this other mac to look for the data in the cloud because currently, I can't turn on the one with the issue.

So the S/N printed in the logic board should mirror match with the device S/N in the bottom cover or is slightly different?

@Michel - Oh No! The system is dead? The logic board printed S/N is not the same!

I would talking about what you see in About this Mac as you are accessing the firmware S/N. The printed number will include the spec type but thats not the same thing as the firmware S/N, the printed logic board S/N which is not the same.
