Stuck in boot loop after battery replace, nothing helps

Hi, after replacing the old battery the iPad reacts only when on charger, otherwise stays black. While on charger it’s stuck in bootloop: white Apple for two seconds alternating with black screen. The most important part, the battery measures 4.02V, so it is not about discharged battery. I am able to get it into DFU but when trying to flash with iTunes or 3uT (I said good bye to my data long time ago already), the moment it restarts for the first time it goes into loop again and connection from app times out.

I’m so tempted to just kick that piece of junk to nothingness, you have no idea. What stupid device cannot handle a new battery, that’s beyond me. I already fixed quite some phones, mostly iPhones (screens, batteries, stuff like that ), but never hit an issue like this. How can I de-brick that, if DFU doesn’t help?

After messing with it quite a bit more I am stuck in recovery mode for a change. Still no way to flash that.

I can hardly connect ampere meter without massive alteration or specialized connector going in between battery and PCB.

Hello,

My assumption is that your battery is not a genuine apple product. That said, you may have an mAh, means milliamp hour, issue and its forcing the voltage regulator to reboot the circuitry. Double check that specification, just speculation. Therefore, try placing the old, original, battery back in the device, use DFU and restore your last backup from iTunes. Then, trade it in for a newer device thru apple trade in program and receive something for it. Hope this information helps a bit. Good Luck!

Hey Mike, you're right, the battery is not genuine. Do we have checks for this now too, even in those old devices?!

I did exactly that in last two hours, put back the original one and restored the iCloud backup but that one is so tired it usually makes it for like 30 mins or so. There is no Apple trade in program here in Europe, and I also do not need a new device, just got a new iPhone and the old iPad was definitely enough for light bedside reading I used it for...

Ren, it has been my experience that most "Non-Genuine" batteries are usually a higher output in both areas, voltage and mAH. This can cause older processors and chipset to overheat, thus creating a reboot. Fairly common to write this safety feature into the programming on almost all devices old or new. Sensitive creatures computing devices are :)
